About Fresh Coconuts
A coconut is the edible fruit of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera), a tree of the palm family. Coconut flesh is high in fat and can be dried or eaten fresh or processed into coconut milk or coconut oil. The liquid of the nut, known as coconut water, is used in beverages.

About Desiccated Coconut
Desiccated coconut was first manufactured from imported nuts in England and in the USA in the early 1880s. It is pure white in color, crisp, and has a fresh taste. It contains 68–72% oil and has a nitrogen content of around 1.05%.

About Copra
Copra is dried coconut kernels. Once sufficiently dried, laborers then crush the copra to expel its valuable coconut oil. The extracted oil is used for a variety of different products, such as soaps and cosmetics. The residue produced from extracting the oil, known as copra cake or copra meal, is used as animal feed.

coconut oil (70%) is extracted by crushing copra; the by-product is known as copra cake or copra meal (30%). The coconut cake which remains after the oil is extracted is 18–25% protein, but contains so much dietary fiber it cannot be eaten in large quantities by humans.
